I get it.

I'm running into a similar situation in my field, commercial printing. After 23 years with one company, said company went belly up and was sold to an out of state printing company. I wasn't willing to commute, so I was out of a job. While searching for another job, I interviewed with two separate companies (one a mom & pop type organization and the other a big named corporate big-box type store). The first just wanted my client list, so I just walked away. The second (corporate) I took the job, but resigned after one day. During that first day in addition to what I thought were my duties, I also learned that I was to be responsible for all sorts of other things not in the job description. That pissed me off, but I kept my cool. But what was so infuriating to me was the quality of the work they were putting out. I asked about making some changes to software and production methods and was basically ignored or given a platitude of some kind. In short, I wasn't willing to put my name to the crap they were producing and decided the best thing for me to do was walk away.

So here I am, as well, trying to figure out some new direction in which to take my life.

Best to you and Mrs. Overlord.

- JBJB_Honeydewnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8532459317899671580.post-39362097255077442272022-03-19T09:35:28.242-04:002022-03-19T09:35:28.242-04:00That was good! So, I asked my buddy "Why?" and the response was "it was worth a try".

Which I didn't even get.

Like I've said, Hail Mary play to avoid doing the work they need to do; toss a consultant at it and let them take the blame for not being able to complete an impossible project with the the incorrect approach.

Just in case, I'm recommending a real AI dude to them. I hope he laughs at them.Matthew Notohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08881509233809999186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8532459317899671580.post-54785902566733653202022-03-19T03:09:18.282-04:002022-03-19T03:09:18.282-04:00Reminded me of this terrifying documentary:
